Events Attire

Please check the correct attire for the various event types below. More information on correct attire is available on the British Dressage and BSJA websites.

At committee discretion, special rosettes will be awarded at our competitions for those that are particularly well turned out.

Smart Casual Clothing with body protectors for Cross Country

Show Jumping

Rider

A good fitting showing/ hacking jacket- black, blue or tweed
Beige, white, or /cream jodhpurs breeches
Clean riding boots/jodhpur boots and gaiters or clean suede chaps
Tie or stock
Gloves
Jumping Whip (between 45cm and 75cm in length)
Riding hat - dark coloured hat silks
Spurs may be used by experienced riders only

Horse

Most items of tack and equipment are allowed in show jumping competitions providing that they are correctly fitted

Dressage

Rider

A good fitting showing/hacking jacket - black, blue or tweed.
Beige, white, or cream jodhpurs /breeches
Clean riding boots/jodhpur boots and gaiters (no suede chaps)
Tie or stock
Gloves, white or dark coloured
Schooling Whip
Riding hat - dark coloured hat silks
Spurs may be used by experienced riders only

Horse

Saddle - dressage or GP
Bridle
Plain white or black numnah /saddle cloth
Dressage legal snaffle bit - please see British Dressage website
Number disc if desired

Show Cross

Rider

Smart casual clothes with long sleeves.
Body protector
Jumping Whip (between 45cm and 75cm in length)
Riding hat - Must meet the latest UK riding standards
Spurs may be used by experienced riders only

Horse
